COMBATANTS’ PSYCHOLOGICAL CHANGES AND PECULIARITIES OF THE PROCESS OF THEIR ADAPTATION FOR LIVING IN THE PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT

This article describes the features of the current psychological status of servicemen who served in the area military action. The intensity of the experience combat stress depends on the interaction of two main factors: the strength and duration of the impact on the psyche of a soldier combat stressors and characteristics of individual response to their impact. Modern military operations are accompanied by increased stressful impact on the psyche of men and can lead to the development of neurotic personality disorders, among which dominates asthenia. It is noted high levels of anxiety and depression. These disorders can be the basis of social and psychological maladjustment, fixation on trauma, lead to deterioration in the quality of life and development of post-traumatic stress disorder. Under these conditions, the need for specialist assistance especially increases. The attention on the importance of psychological prevention and correction for successful rehabilitation and reasonably appropriate tactics for therapy soldiers participating in armed conflicts.
