Acta Carpathica is a peer-reviewed professional scientific journal (Category B) that brings together researchers, scholars, and experts in the field of natural sciences with a focus on the Carpathian region and adjacent areas.

The journal (ISSN 2450-8640) was established in 2013 as a result of collaboration between the University of Rzeszów (Poland) and Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University (Ukraine).

After a temporary suspension, the journal resumed its activities in Ukraine in 2021 and continues to foster active scientific communication both nationally and internationally.

The Acta Carpathica scientific journal publishes original research articles based on experimental studies, as well as specialized reviews on current issues in the fields of biology, agriculture, forestry, ecology, applied physics, nanomaterials, tourism, and other disciplines related to the Carpathian region.

The mission of Acta Carpathica is to create a sustainable academic environment for the dissemination of contemporary scientific knowledge about the Carpathian region, to support scientific initiatives, facilitate exchange of experience among researchers, and encourage innovation in areas of strategic importance for the conservation, development, and sustainable use of the Carpathians’ natural potential.

Acta Carpathica adheres to the principles of Open Access. All articles are published free of charge and without restriction immediately upon release of each issue. Full texts are available in real-time on the official website under the Archives section. This policy aligns with the Open Access standards defined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
