BRIGHT MANIFESTATION OF UKRAINIAN LINGUISTIC THOUGHT

Abstract

The review emphasizes that the purpose of the publication of Kyiv linguists is to present selected fragments of monographic studies of Ukrainian researchers on the syntactic structure of the Ukrainian language, scientifi c articles and materials published in the second half of the twentieth century – the fi rst decades of the XXI century. The main approach for the selection of author’s concepts is the desire of leading scholars refl ect on the specifi cs of syntactic units – from syntaxemes to text, to identify functional options at the logical, structural, semantic and communicative-pragmatic levels. The book has an informational and reference purpose, in particular to form a solid theoretical foundation that represents the domestic scientifi c tradition, outlines the problems to be solved using modern methods. The antology covers seven sections, which are structured in two books: 1. Syntax of the phrase. 2. Syntax of a two-sentence. 3. Syntax of a simple sentence. 4. Syntax of a simple complicated sentence. 5. Syntax of a complex sentence. 6. Syntactic stylistics. 7. Theory of syntax. The theoretical and practical signifi cance of the peer-reviewed work lies in its synthetic nature, multyconceptuality , in-depth understanding of facts and phenomena related to human thinking and speech acts, in the multilevel description of the ontological properties of the basic communicative unit of language – sentence. The target readership of the textbook is students of philological faculties, graduate students, teachers, lecturers of higher education institutions, researchers of Ukrainian grammar.
